Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
The Signs ("we," "us," "our") operates thesigns.blog (the "Site"). This page explains what information we collect when you visit or use the Site, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Who we are
The Signs is a small, independently-run blog covering astrology, tarot, and numerology. If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact us at clara@thesigns.blog.
Information we collect
We collect information in a few limited ways:
Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Site: pages viewed, general location, device type, and interactions like button clicks. This data is aggregated and does not include your name or email address.
Advertising. We use Google AdSense to show ads on the Site. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies or use similar device identifiers to serve ads, measure ad performance, and, where you have given consent, personalize the ads you see based on your browsing activity.
We do not sell physical or digital products on this Site, and we do not collect payment information.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for two purposes: analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense). If you are visiting from the European Economic Area or UK, a cookie banner on your first visit asks you to accept or decline before either is set:
- If you accept, both analytics and advertising cookies are enabled, including personalized ads based on your activity on this and other sites.
- If you decline, analytics and advertising cookies stay off. Google may still receive a basic, cookie-less signal needed to serve non-personalized ads and to estimate aggregate visitor numbers; this signal does not identify you individually and is not linked to a profile.
Outside those regions, cookie consent of this kind isn't a legal requirement, so no banner is shown and analytics and advertising cookies, including personalized ads, are enabled by default from your first visit.
If you're in the European Economic Area or UK, you can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's site data for thesigns.blog and reloading the page, which will show the banner again.
How we use your information
- To understand which pages and content resonate with visitors, so we can improve the Site
- To detect and prevent abuse of forms (for example, basic rate-limiting)
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third parties we use
- Netlify: hosts the Site and its backend functions
- Google Analytics: website usage analytics
- Google AdSense: serves the ads shown on the Site; see the Cookies section above for how your consent choice affects this
- Social platforms (such as Instagram or Pinterest): if you follow links from the Site to our social profiles, your interaction there is governed by that platform's own privacy policy
Your choices
- You can accept or decline analytics and advertising cookies via the cookie banner on your first visit, and change that choice later as described in the Cookies section above. Declining prevents the data from being collected in the first place.
- We do not hold a direct, identifiable record of you (no accounts, no newsletter at this time), so there is no personal file on our side for us to look up or delete. Analytics and advertising data is collected and processed by Google under its own privacy policy; you can manage or request deletion of that data directly through Google's own tools (for example, myactivity.google.com or Google's Ads Settings).
- If you are in the European Economic Area or UK, you have rights under the GDPR regarding any personal data processed in connection with the Site. Contact us at clara@thesigns.blog with questions, and we will point you to the right place if the data in question is held by one of our third-party providers rather than by us directly.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained for the standard retention period set by Google Analytics, not by us. We do not maintain a separate store of personal data that we could delete on request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date above.
